Latest December figures show that;
- Average prices for dairy rations dropped slightly between November and December.
- Prices for protein concentrates fell between November and December.
In the straights market, Rapeseed meal averaged £162/tonne in December, up £9/tonne on last month, and £38/tonne (19%) down on the December 2010 average price. Hipro soyameal averaged £252/tonne in December, up £4/tonne on the previous month and down £47/tonne (15.7%) on the previous year
Comparisons with the previous year show that intensive energy dairy rations were up £28/tonne (13.1%), whilst low energy dairy rations were also up £27/tonne (14.9%) on last year to an average of £208/tonne.
Prices for protein concentrates fell between November and December, with the average price of high protein concentrates falling £9/tonne (2.6%) to £334/tonne, standard protein concentrates down £8/tonne (2.5%) to £309/tonne and medium protein concentrates down £9/tonne (3.1%) to £283/tonne.
