Wales Dairy Cow Numbers
The number of dairy cows in Wales fell by less than one percent between 2009 and 2010 to 220,322.
The number of dairy cows has fallen consistently over the last eight years, with a fall of 47,818 cows (17.8%). There was a slight rise in Welsh cow numbers between 2002 and 2003, rising by 0.2% (403), before the continual year-on-year falls began.
